It's back to school time across the nation and here in Lancaster. Whether you're sending your child off to school for the first time or just reminiscing about your own school days, there's no doubt education is at the backbone of our society. And like the new Kia vehicles you see at Lancaster Kia, a solid education requires a great deal of support. That's why DonorsChoose.org has spent the past 12 years working to secure funding for schools by reaching out to community members nationwide. That's also why Kia Motors America has responded to the need with a $1 million fiscal backing.

Byung Mo Ahn, President and CEO of Kia Motors America, is the first to point out that one of the company's core values remains a commitment to being a "respected global corporate citizen."1 From this commitment stems a desire to lend a hand to venerable organizations such as DonorsChoose.org.

Specifically, the automaker's fiscal donation will go towards the charity's "Double Your Impact" campaign. As citizen philanthropists around Kia headquarters and dealerships make donations to the campaign, Kia will match them. All in all it looks as though Kia will facilitate much needed funds for projects in over 125,000 schools across America. Projects include funding new books, classroom tools, field trips, and more.

Of the company's venture into the education forum, Byung Mo Ahn proudly exclaims, "Kia...is proud to be the first automotive brand to establish a national philanthropic partnership with DonorsChoose.org."1,2
