Those of you staying up to date on Kia news have probably heard about the new luxury sedan slated to officially launch later in 2012. Formerly known as the Kia K9, it promises a chic, opulent look akin to the Mercedes and Bimmer models with which it's positioned to compete. To match is a standard 333-hp 3.8-liter V6 and fiercer 429-hp 5.0-liter V8, for those craving a little more adrenaline.
As promised, Lancaster Kia is here to bring you the latest on Kia's inaugural luxury sedan. That is a very drastic name change. Henceforth, the forthcoming K9 is to be called the Quoris (core-is), in all global markets excluding Korea. We suspect that, there, it will continue to carry the K9 nameplate.
The reason for the change?
Simple. The South Korean automaker opted for Kia Quoris to better reflect what the sedan embodies. That is a premium core and impeccable quality.
We don't know about you, but we at Lancaster Kia find it a most welcome update. For some reason, we couldn't help but associate K9 with PDs' K9 units, something from which the drop-dead gorgeous vehicle couldn't be less akin. Kia Quoris, while admittedly difficult to type, offers memorable alliteration and, like the model, is distinctive on its own. Quoris.
