Are you a fan of Spotify? Most music fans know it as the increasingly popular music streaming service - it's award-winning digital
music service gives users access to over 15 million songs, and there's even a
free membership option available. Spotify aims to help its listeners enjoy,
discover, and share music with their friends, while also ensuring that the
artists get fair payment. Kia certainly seems to be a fan of
the service; the South Korean auto manufacturer recently created its "Kia
Rio Windows Down" playlist and is asking Kia enthusiasts to add their
favorite tunes. That's certainly music to our ears.
This isn't the first time music has played an important part in the brand's advertising strategy. As Michael Sprague, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Kia Motors America states, "From our 'Share Some Soul' ad featuring LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem' to Motley Crue belting out 'Kickstart My Heart' in last month's Super Bowl commercial, music plays an important role in Kia's marketing efforts and being the first in the auto industry to partner with Spotify continues that trend.1
Since February, when Kia created the playlist and asked its Facebook fans to submit their favorite songs, over 1,100 have been added to the database. Listeners certainly seem to enjoy the playlist so far; the average listener tunes in for 24 minutes. To submit your own favorite jams, visit the brand's Kia Rio Facebook page today.
