Kia believes that a strong, thriving community is the backbone to their brand's success, which is why they are so dedicated to improving the cities and towns around their dealerships. And while this often includes a monetary donation, the South Korean automaker's employees often enjoy giving back too. To that end, Kia recently teamed with Trees for Cities, the United Kingdom's premier nonprofit landscaping organization, to help out in a big way.

Specifically, Trees for Cities organized a planting event at the Triangle Adventure Playground in Lambeth in London, and Kia supplied eager employees to help. Together, the two revitalized the park in a big way, with new trees, grass, and other greenery to make the playground's large climbing frames, rope swings, and vegetable garden more vibrant than ever.

Why did Kia and Trees for Cities choose to organize an event at the Triangle Adventure Playground, specifically? Aside from being one of London's oldest playgrounds, first established in 1957, it's one that sees frequent use from local families. In other words, it was starting to show its age, and neither Kia nor Trees for Cities want that to hinder its use.

"The work that has been done by Kia, Trees for Cities and the Kia Oval staff has greatly enhanced the playground," noted local MP Kate Hoey upon witnessing a tree being planted in memory of the playgrounds founder Marjorie Porter MBE. "I'm sure the children will love learning about the fruit trees as they grow over the coming years and enjoy eating the fruit when they appear"1
