Kia has already established that their all-new K9 flagship sedan will be coming to the U.S., but they haven't said under what name. The South Korean automaker has confirmed that the full-size luxury car will gain a new name with its American release, and that little else about it will change. That said, we here at Lancaster Kia can't wait to see the soon-to-be-named vehicle come to our new Kia dealership's lot.
"K9 is all about elegant simplicity, balanced proportions and simple surfaces," says Kia Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer; perhaps giving some hints on what will go into naming the American version of the K9. "The class-leading long wheelbase, the prestige distance, large wheels, sharply upright short overhangs and a long sweeping shoulder line all work together in a harmony to give K9 a sporty, athletic proportion and a confident stance quintessential to a premium large rear-wheel drive vehicle."1
While it boasts a highly-styled exterior, there is more to the 2013 Kia K9 than its looks. Under the hood, there's a 3.8-liter Lambda V6 engine, which is paired with an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission. This combination allows the K9 to produce an incredible 286 horsepower. In other words, the Kia K9 is every bit about performance as it is about luxury. And that's sure to make its way into the vehicle's name too.
Whatever name the K9 gains in coming to America, we here at Lancaster Kia are sure that it will make an excellent addition to the new Kia lineup that we currently offer here at 5250 Main Street in East Petersburg. And you can be sure that we'll keep you updated every step of the way, so make sure to stay tuned.
