Here at Lancaster Kia, we'd have to agree that the Kia Sportage is one of our favorites in terms of style. This is why we were quite excited to hear that the model which originally launched in 2010, is set to receive some exterior updates. The recent spy photos that have captured of the 2014 Sportage out and about testing, have further confirmed that it will be undergoing quite the facelift.
Although the Sportage is covered in camouflage in the photos, it is still quite apparent that the front of the model will be receiving a majority of the updates. For starters, it sports updated LED daytime running headlights, fog lights and tail lights. The overall structure of the SUV appears to remain about the same however.
Moving on to the interior of the new model, one of the spy photos gives us a sneak peek of what's inside. It features an enhanced infotainment system, as well as the FlexSteer system that can be found on the Kia cee'd model. We predict many other adjustments will be made as well, but we'll simply have to wait for launch of the model to learn more.
As of now, no news has been released by Kia regarding the release of any new powertrains, although the development of new turbo 1.2 T-GDi is currently underway in Korea. It is believed this could be an alternative to the European 1.6-liter base engine and perhaps an option for the Sportage. Otherwise it will most likely feature the eco-friendly versions of the existing CRDi and GDi units. Only time will tell!
Until we learn more, we encourage you to visit our showroom conveniently located in East Petersburg, PA. We'd be happy to show you what the current Sportage SUV has to offer, or schedule you for a test drive with any of the new Kia models that catch your eye!
