Kia provides an excellent warranty for their vehicles, and we at Lancaster Kia near Harrisburg, PA are proud to offer it to our customers.  Most vehicles in the United States come with a basic warranty of 36,000 miles or three years, whichever comes first.  Kia offers so much more.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How many years or miles does the warranty last for? 10 years or 100,000 miles whichever comes first.
  • What does the warranty cover? Unexpected repairs on a variety of major Kia vehicle components.
  • Does it include 24-hour Roadside Assistance? Yes, this is free during the warranty period. Specific details are provided below.

Basic Warranty

Our basic warranty covers most aspects of your Kia and provides you with financial protection against unexpected repairs.  Our warranties begin when you bring your Kia in for its first service.  The Kia is covered for the first five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. It also includes 24-hour roadside assistance during the warranty period.  Plus, the powertrain, battery, audio system, brakes, clutch plate, and emission system all have separate coverages, most for an extended period.

Kia does not usually warrant weather damage, floods, or acts of God.  Kia will not repair a vehicle that has been tampered with in some way, especially changes to the odometer.  But, for the most part, all repairs are covered during the warranty period.

For the first 12,000 miles, all maintenance needed by the car is provided for free by your Kia dealer.  Kia requires the owner to keep the car maintenance up-to-date and the car in good condition.  Kia will not repair normal wear and tear on your vehicle after 12,000 miles except for the exceptions listed below.

Battery and Coolant Warranty

After 12,000 miles, the owner becomes responsible for maintenance.  Even so, Kia's warranty offers our customers an excellent deal. The battery is covered up to 36,000 miles or 36 months if it needs repair.  After 12,000 miles, the battery repair is reimbursed on a sliding scale depending on how old the battery is until the car reaches three years or 36,000 miles. The air conditioning coolant is replaced for free for the first 12,000 miles.  After that, it becomes the responsibility of the owner to maintain the coolant.

Emission System Warranty

Kia's emission system is warrantied longer than the basic warranty period.  Parts that affect the performance of the emission system are warrantied for 24,000 miles or 24 months in service.  Specific parts of the emission system including the catalytic converter are warrantied for 80,000 miles or 96 months in service.

Powertrain Warranty

Because we live in York, PA, we are most proud of our powertrain warranty.  The basic warranty covers the powertrain up to 60,000 miles or five years from the first date of service. Those customers who keep their KIA longer than five years are offered additional coverage free of charge. Any Kia owned by the original owner is offered an additional warranty period for the powertrain extending up to 100,000 miles or 120 months.  This is special coverage that Kia offers for continuing customers. Specifically, the powertrain warranty covers the engine, including the water and oil pump and cover. The transaxle includes seals and gaskets, the axles, the transmission, differential and propeller shafts.

Nonperforation Warranty

Kia also offers non perforation protection.  This means any break in the painted areas of the car exterior that rust from the inside out. Customers who use their Kia in areas where snow is salted should check with us how to take care of your vehicle so that you don't lose this valuable coverage.  The non perforation warranty covers five years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

When it is time to shop for a vehicle in Lancaster, PA, come and see us first.  As you can see, our great Kia warranty is hard to beat and will give you peace of mind as you drive your new Kia.
